The US ATLAS Midwest Tier2 Center (MWT2), a consortium of University of Chicago, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and Indiana University, has grown to become a leading computing facility for the approximately 3000 physicists participating on the ATLAS experiment at the CERN Large Hadron Collider.

MWT2 at the Computation Institute plays a crucial role in the new era of experimental particle physics by providing a high-throughput, data-intensive analysis and simulation facility for proton collisions recorded by the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), based at the CERN Laboratory in Geneva, Switzerland.
