Narayan Desai has been working at Argonne form over a decade on system software and configuration management. His work on the Cobalt resource manager was based on careful design, as its use for managing Blue Gene systems attests. He also played a lead role in the development of the configurationmanagement tool bcfg2. Additionally, Desai has worked on experimental systems such as the SiCortex, of which Argonne was one of the first users, and on the Magellan project.
Desai received his B.A. in computer science from the University of Chicago in 1998. He was named a fellow of the Computation Institute in 2008.
